Arjuna, the third son of Pandu and Kunti by the blessings of Indra Dev, was married to King Drupada’s daughter, Draupadi. Upon hearing of the Pandavas’ supposed death at Varnavata, King Draupada set up a Swayamvara contest for Draupadi to choose her husband from the competitive contest. But unknown to others, Arjuna attended the Swayamvara in disguise and won her hand in marriage. This is how and why arjuna married Draupadi.
